I know it has been a while since I’ve last blogged! I blame it on my super busy and hectic work schedule. I just haven’t had the time to do anything other than work and errands here and there. However, finally I managed to have some free time yesterday and I used this opportunity to meet up with some of my girls.
We have been experiencing some lovely hot weather over here in the UK (that was up until today, there is a thunderstorm happening as I write). When the sun is out it is tradition to get the barbecue out and catch a vibe and that’s exactly how I spent my day.
For the BBQ vibe, I kept it very simple and cute with a crop top and trousers combination. The top is from Berskha’s summer collection last year. I’ve only worn it once before so it needed to make a reappearance. What I love about this top is that it’s not your typical crop top because of the tie details. There’s not a specific way to tie it, so you have the option to switch it from the front, side or back.
Even though yesterday was very hot, I still chose to wear trousers because these have been chilling in my wardrobe for some months now. The material is quite thin so I knew I could work with these trousers despite the heat.
These trousers are ‘paper bag’ trousers. The style gets it name because of how the trousers scrunch in around the waist, similar to how you scrunch in the top part of a paper bag when you hold it from the top. The fact the colour is beige just emphasises the name more. ‘Paper bag trousers’ is defiantly my favourite bottoms to wear when I’m not wearing jeans. I’ve done a few looks before wearing this style of trousers in the past and, so far I’ve purchased all of these trousers from Berskha but they are available at various high street brands.
I think they are perfect dress down or up trousers, they are loose fitting but because the style is high waisted and scrunches in, your shape can still be accentuated! This means you don’t have to worry about looking straight like an actual paper bag! In addition, you can take a break from wearing tight-fitting trousers and wear something super comfortable which works well with your figure.
I finished this look with some Old School Vans: the perfect casual sneaker. I decided to wear no accessories or jewellery expect for some hoop earrings, keeping my look very clean and casual.
I hope to do another outfit look next weekend. I know I’ve been slacking but I am going to try and be consistent again! I’ve got holidays coming up also so I’ll have so much looks to blog about which I can’t wait to share with you all.
So on that note, we will chat soon! Take good care.
Lots of love,
